Seán O’Kane, Pinergy Orwell Wheelers, produced a season of clear progression in 2026, combining selfless early teamwork with a strong second-half surge that secured 17th place on the C1 rankings.
Seán O’Kane is another up-and-coming young rider who formed part of one of the strongest teams on the Irish domestic scene in 2026.

Racing with Pinergy Orwell Wheelers alongside Liam Crowley and Evan Keane, who finished 4th and 7th respectively on the overall rankings with multiple wins.
O’Kane seems to have played a supporting role regularly during the first half of the season.

The inaugural Paudie Fitzgerald ‘Mol an Óige’ Award shortlisted rider was involved in his the team’s blistering opening at the Dornan Rás Mumhan.
Pinergy Orwell Wheelers won the Stage 1a Team Time Trial with a powerful performance from Keane, Crowley, O’Kane, Luke Keaney and Padraig Moran.

The result put Evan Keane into the Yellow Jersey and O’Kane into the white U23 jersey. O’Kane remained well placed early on (4th overall after Stage 1b) as the squad successfully defended the lead before the jersey changed shoulders onto Crowley.
Plenty of teamwork duties then followed for the young rider as the team fought hard throughout the four days.

At Rás Mhaigh Eo he again rode in support of his teammates. Both Crowley (Stage 3 winner) and Keane (Stage 1 winner) were heavily involved in the GC battle, and O’Kane was again called into team duties, finishing 20th overall himself.
Strong Second Half of the Season
O’Kane completed his second Rás Tailteann comfortably before heading to the Belgian kermesse circuit. The experience set him up perfectly for an exceptional second half of the campaign.

A superb 12th place at the National Road Race Championships (combined Elite/U23 race) also secured him 5th in the U23 category. This was followed by a run of excellent performances:
- 2nd – Collins Christle Memorial
